G Plan unveiled an exciting new vintage range, designed in collaboration with the legendary Wayne Hemingway and his highly acclaimed team of vintage experts at Hemingway Design. The new collection, which will be sold exclusively at John Lewis in 2012 under the G Plan Vintage label, will be rolled out across 15 stores in late July.
Inspired by G Plan furniture from the 50s and 60s, the new collection brings a modern twist to vintage designs. Each of the five stunning models were crafted after delving into the G Plan archive and are named after the year in which the corresponding original pieces were made.
With vintage styles currently enjoying a renaissance, the chic collection speaks loudly to the latest trends in the interior design world.
Daughter of Wayne Hemingway, Tilly, who was instrumental in steering the collaboration at Hemingway Design, said, "G Plan came to prominence in a golden era of British Design that emerged and developed from the 1951 Festival of Britain.
This era of 'Mid Century Modern' design is now inspiring a whole generation of young designers once more, and I cannot tell you how exciting it has been to be able to trawl the G Plan archive with a brief to re-interpret the brands rich history for a new generation of 'modernists'.”
“Being able to sample and manufacture in the UK, develop custom prints, work with high quality materials, and in its first season for the collection to be sold in John Lewis, has been a bit of a dream come true."
